1st Workshop of R3PEAT project

On May 3-4, 2023, the RISED laboratory held the 1^st workshop of the R3PEAT project “1st Workshop Remote Real-time Riprap Protection Erosion AssessmenT “ at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Civil Engineering.

During the first day of the workshop, R3PEAT team presented the main research findings and outlined ongoing activities, sparking insightful discussions with the audience, both in person and online.

The second day featured a significant milestone — the public defense of a dissertation topic “Temporal development of a scour hole next to bridge piers protected with riprap” by an R3PEAT Ph.D. candidate, which fostered a lively and constructive debate on the presented research that streamlined the continuation of the research towards the Ph.D. thesis.

The workshop was concluded with a casual gathering, reflecting on the progress and collaborative spirit driving the project forward. We’re excited about the advancements made and look forward to continued innovation in protecting infrastructure interacting with large rivers.
