Hydraulic flume is primarily used to simulate open channel environment. Flume’s integrated equipment consists of two water pumps, flow meter, flow rectification system, downstream flap, and equipment guides. Glass sidewalls enable experiment observation and camera documentation.

Dimensions: 18 m x 1 m
Pump capacity: 50 l/s
Nortek Acoustic Doppler Velocimeters (ADVP) is used for measurement of three-dimensional velocity vector with high temporal resolution over the 30 mm water column depth to determine turbulence in the flow.
Type: Nortek Vectrino
The hand-held structured-light 3D scanner is used to create textured and accurate 3D models with accuracy up to 0.1 mm and resolution up to 0.2 mm.
Type: EVA Scanner
Optical scanner is contactless and can collect bathymetric data quickly with no interference with the experiments. Ground control points are used to overlap independent scans.

Post-processed data is used to calculate bed development form different experimental stages and identify erosion and sedimentation patterns within the model bathymetry.
Advanced contactless radar level meter is used for precise distance measurement from the instrument to the surface of the various fluids. It is mounted permanently on the flume sidewall.
Type: LX-80
